Read MoreEstablished around 200 years ago, the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church (PBCC) was founded by John Nelson Darby, one of the most influential Protestant thinkers of the 19th century.
Today, we have just over 54,000 members in our Community. We live in regular homes on ordinary streets, in towns and cities across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, North and South America, the Caribbean and the United Kingdom.
Our members operate their own businesses, buy houses, shop locally, volunteer and do charitable work, pay taxes and employ many people from both within our Community and outside.
Over the years, we have had to adapt. We use technology for business, education and household reasons.
At the heart of our Community is a commitment to care and compassion. We dedicate our time volunteering through our charitable arm, the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) and contribute financially to many causes. We actively seek opportunities to support local, regional and global initiatives.
Our members, many of whom operate family-owned businesses, play a vital role in driving the local economy where we live, work and serve. We contribute directly by paying taxes, employing local people, and improving amenities.
Our resourceful and innovative members form a global Community that can swiftly mobilise diverse skill sets and tangible assets to support during global crises. Together, we leverage our network of members to make a positive impact on the world.
Education is important to us, so much so we created one of the largest independent network of schools in the world, OneSchool Global (OSG). OSG provides progressive digital learning environments to around 9,000 young girls and boys and employs 2,500 professional teaching staff from the wider community. Many school alumni go on to work in a family business and engage in tertiary education.
