Freiwillige Helfer der Plymouth Brethren Christian Church und des Rapid Relief Teams (RRT) haben Pollie Pedal in Tasmanien drei Tage lang und 300 Kilometer lang unterst\u00fctzt und die Teilnehmer mit Energie versorgt, w\u00e4hrend sie Spenden f\u00fcr Diabetes Australia sammelten.<\/p>\n

Der 18. j\u00e4hrliche Spendenzyklus wurde erneut vom stellvertretenden Premierminister von Tasmanien, Guy Barnett, unterst\u00fctzt, der am Freitag, den 28. Februar, zu denjenigen geh\u00f6rte, die sich von der Hagley Farm School in Launceston aus auf den Weg machten.<\/p>\n

Mehr als 20 PBCC-Freiwillige aus Deloraine, Scottsdale und Launceston unterst\u00fctzten die Veranstaltung und servierten den Fahrern Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck, Mittag- und Abendessen, w\u00e4hrend sie ihre epische Reise beendeten.<\/p>\n

Der \u00f6rtliche Teamleiter von RRT, Tim Arkcoll, sagte, dass sie an drei Tagen 320 Mahlzeiten serviert haben, darunter Schinken-K\u00e4se-Toasties, Speck- und Eierrollen, RRT Signature Burger und Pulled Pork Tacos.<\/p>\n

\u201ePollie Pedal ist eine fantastische Veranstaltung, die Politiker und ihre W\u00e4hler mit einem Ziel zusammenbringt \u2013 wichtige Spenden f\u00fcr Diabetesprogramme und -forschung zu sammeln\u201c, sagte Tim.<\/p>\n

„Es ist eine so wichtige Sache, und obwohl wir an diesem Wochenende nicht auf den Motorr\u00e4dern waren, ist das Rapid Relief Team sehr froh, dass wir auf unsere eigene RRT-Weise unterst\u00fctzen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n

\u201eUnsere Freiwilligen servierten den Fahrern Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck, Mittag- und Abendessen sowie von Baristas zubereiteten Kaffee, und ich bin sicher, dass sie den Energieschub zu sch\u00e4tzen wussten, als sie 300 Kilometer im Norden Tasmaniens in Angriff nahmen.\u201c<\/p>\n

Seit 2006 hat Pollie Pedal 850.000 US-Dollar f\u00fcr wichtige Diabetesprogramme und -forschung gesammelt.<\/p>\n

Als gemeinn\u00fctziger Arm der Plymouth Brethren Christian Church unterst\u00fctzt RRT Mitarbeiter an vorderster Front und Rettungsdienste durch die Bereitstellung von Lebensmitteln, Spenden und anderen Ressourcen sowie durch die Ausrichtung von Veranstaltungen f\u00fcr die Gemeinde.
\nEs wurde 2013 gegr\u00fcndet, um Rettungsdienste in Katastrophen- und Krisenzeiten durch die Bereitstellung von Mahlzeiten und anderer Unterst\u00fctzung zu unterst\u00fctzen, ist auf mehr als 16.000 Freiwillige angewachsen und unterst\u00fctzt die Gemeinde durch wohlt\u00e4tige Spenden und Veranstaltungen.<\/p>\n
