Learn more about what the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church is, and who its members are
The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church is a Christian fellowship based on the Holy Bible as the Word of God. We have a community of over 50,000 members across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Americas and UK.
We strongly believe that the family is of particular importance. Our children grow up loved, cherished, and are able to enjoy their childhood in a strong caring community. We live, work and pray as ‘Brethren’ – a community of families held together by our common Christian belief.
We congregate every Sunday in simple Meeting Rooms (Gospel Halls) to celebrate the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) and to preach the Gospel. We gather daily for Bible readings and prayers, and we also preach the Gospel in public, praying that others too will find salvation in Jesus Christ through the Holy Bible.
The history of the Plymouth Brethren dates back to the early nineteenth century in England where there was growing dissatisfaction within the Anglican Church.
