Didcot gift a bus shelter to local community

World Give Day is held on the 4th of May every year and is a special day allowing people to collaborate, give, and celebrate kindness. It encourages selflessness by reminding people to use the opportunity to help others around them.

Brightwell-cum-Sotwell is a village of postcard-picture prettiness located in Upper Thames Valley in South Oxfordshire. It is home to many well-loved and supportive families, including several members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church (PBCC).

Recently, members of the Lime Walk Gospel Hall Trust, a PBCC congregation, dedicated themselves to giving back to the local community by renovating the well-used bus shelter in the village, displaying their true giving spirit.

About World Give Day

World Give Day began in 2010 and was created by the online fundraising platform GiveForward.com. The idea was to have a specific day dedicated to encouraging people to give back through various forms of donations, such as money, time, or resources, to support charitable causes they believe in.

On this day, people around the world come together to support various causes that are close to their hearts. It’s a day dedicated to the simple yet powerful acts of giving, whether it’s time, resources, or support. The significance of World Give Day lies in its ability to unite individuals from all walks of life in the act of giving. It underscores the fact that everyone has something valuable to offer, no matter their situation. The day is marked by a collective effort to impact the lives of others positively through donations to charities, volunteering, or simply sharing a kind gesture.

World Give Day’s reach is global, involving people from every corner of the world. This inclusivity fosters a sense of global community and highlights the universal value of kindness. The day shows us that our small actions can substantially positively affect both individual lives and broader communities.

Correcting claims of using legal action to silence former members

Recent reports by The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age falsely imply that the Brethren’s charity, the Rapid Relief Team or RRT, is suing a person, because she made allegations of abuse against a church member. This is categorically untrue.   In the interest of transparency and truth, we have published a full statement below on this matter.   Media Statement Last week The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age published the article […]
