‘Thank you’ Lunch For Griffith’s Healthcare Heroes

The hard-working doctors, nurses and staff from Griffith Base Hospital and nearby St Vincent’s Private Community Hospital have been treated to lunch by the Rapid Relief Team (RRT). The lunch was to thank the fantastic hospital staff in Griffith for their hard work and dedication in caring for the local community.

Healthcare Heroes

RRT Local Team Leader Doug Donald said it was important for the community to recognise those who take such great care of us.

“Ten volunteers served up about 150 meals today which of course included the Rapid Relief Team’s signature burgers, and we were very pleased to see they went down a treat,” Doug said.

“This is a chance to say thank you to the fantastic hospital staff who work tirelessly to look after the health of our community.

“Our volunteers get a thrill out of brightening the days of the people who are so dedicated to the welfare of others.

“The medical staff at Griffith Base Hospital and the nearby St Vincent’s Private Community Hospital provide world-class care and we are very fortunate to have them looking after us.”

As the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, RRT supports frontline workers and emergency services by providing food, donations and other resources, as well as hosting events for the community.

Lunch For Healthcare Heroes

The RRT was established in 2013 to assist emergency services in times of disaster and crisis by providing meals and other support. It’s expanded to more than 14,500 volunteers and provides support to the community through charitable donations and events.
