More than 100k views for Behind the Plymouth Brethren – a not-so Exclusive podcast

As the second episode of Behind the Plymouth Brethren – a not-so Exclusive podcast goes live, the Church has thanked the 115,000 viewers who have tuned in so-far.

PBCC spokesperson and podcast host, Lloyd Grimshaw said that it was encouraging to see such viewership after just two episodes.

“The purpose of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church starting its own podcast was to tackle some of the myths and misconceptions that surround us, so it is really promising to see so many people taking the time to watch,” said Mr Grimshaw.

“We are very excited to have established this important platform for members of our Church to tell their own stories, and the wider community can learn more about our way of life from an accurate source – not a sensationalised one.”

Episode two is the second of a four-part interview with the four Hales brothers, Gareth, Dean, Charles and Greg, sons of the Church’s most senior leader Mr Bruce Hales.

They discuss the roles of women and men in the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, and beliefs around meals and dining.

It can be viewed here on YouTube and listened to on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

“We hope to give a truer picture of the 55,000 Plymouth Brethren across the world – who are just regular people trying to live good, Christian lives,” said Mr Grimshaw.

The PBCC was established around 200 years ago, founded by John Nelson Darby, one of the most influential Protestant thinkers of the 19th century. Today there are more than 55,000 community members across Australia, the Caribbean, Europe, New Zealand, North and South America and the United Kingdom.

Correcting the Record: “Brethren charity sues woman allegedly abused by an elder”.
