Rapid Relief Team Puts Smiles On Faces At Albury Kids Camp
Rapid Relief Team volunteers have rolled up their sleeves to brighten the days of seriously ill children by serving up more than 170 meals at Country Hope’s annual children’s holiday camp in Albury.
The “Time Out for Life” camp gives children diagnosed with serious illness and their siblings an opportunity to get involved in activities like rock climbing, fishing and BMX biking, as well as pottery and craft sessions.
Member for Farrer and Deputy Opposition Leader, the Hon. Sussan Ley MP, joined a dozen RRT volunteers in serving up the tasty lunches at the PCYC Albury.
“We were delighted to provide lunch for the kids during the camp, as well as the doctors and mentors who volunteer to make such a difference in the lives of these wonderful children,” RRT Albury Local Team Leader John Moody said.
“This is the first time we have supported Country Hope. They provide a great service to country families, and we hope to be back to help again.”
Country Hope is a charity that provides emotional and financial support to country families who have a child diagnosed with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses. It is based in the Riverina, supporting families in Wagga, Albury-Wodonga, Griffith, Dubbo and surrounding areas.
