RRT Burgers Served Up For Boys In The Bush
As the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, RRT supports frontline workers and emergency services by providing food, donations and other resources, as well as hosting events for the community. This week, the Rapid Relief Team has served up more than 800 meals at the Boys To The Bush community engagement day in Albury.
The event at Lavington Sports Ground brought together a range of community groups to support the charity, which is dedicated to securing a brighter future for disadvantaged young boys.
The day included a range of Boys To The Bush initiatives as well as sports, cultural, mental health activities, DJ entertainment and gifts and prizes.RRT Albury Local Team Leader John Moody and volunteers kept the burgers rolling off the grill to make sure everyone was well fed.
“This is a great day for the young boys and the community to be able to come together and support a good cause that is making a difference in the lives some of our most disadvantaged kids,” John said.“We’re always ready and willing to support Boys To The Bush who are helping prepare the young boys today to be the men of tomorrow.
“If there’s one thing we know active young kids need it’s good grub, and that’s where we come in. We had 15 volunteers primed to keep the burger patties rolling off the grill and they didn’t disappoint. It was a great day, and we were really pleased to be able to support.”
