RRT Hosts Lunch For Dandenong Hospital Heroes

The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) has celebrated the hard work and care of the wonderful nurses and staff at Dandenong Hospital by cooking up more than 800 meals for them.

Federal Member for Bruce, the Hon Julian Hill MP, and City of Greater Dandenong Councillor Mayor Lana Formoso attended the BBQ event in which 15 members of the local Berwick RRT cooked up a storm.

RRT Local Team Leader Simon Mauger said volunteers provided their tasty signature burgers, sausage sandwiches, chicken wraps and bottled water to the nurses and hospital staff.

“The nurses and healthcare staff at Dandenong Hospital do a wonderful job looking after all of us in the community and it was fantastic to be able to say thank you with a lunch just for them,” Simon said.

“We want to give back to those who give us so much, why is we were only too happy to fire up the grill. It was great to see there were plenty of hungry hospital staff with more than 800 meals served up.”

“I know our team got such a kick out of not only talking to the nurses and hospital staff but seeing the smiles on their faces.

“Our nurses and hospital staff are everyday heroes and we look forward to being able to come back to Dandenong Hospital and say thank you again in the future.”
