RRT hosts thank you lunch for Mt Barker Hospital heroes

The Rapid Relief Team (RRT), the charitable arm of our church, has hosted its seventh thank-you lunch for South Australia’s healthcare heroes, with volunteers, this time serving up satisfying meals to the wonderful nurses and health staff at Mount Barker District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.

RRT Local Team Leader Luke Butcher said volunteers kept the signature burgers rolling off the grill to smiles from hospital staff who took a well-earned break.

“It was great to be able to give back to the healthcare staff of the Mount Barker Hospital who have taken care of all of us and our families at some point,” Luke said.

“Seeing the smiles on faces and watching all the hospital staff take a moment to soak up the appreciation is what we love to see, and I know it gives all our volunteers joy to be able to give back in this way.

“Thank you lunches are our way of showing appreciation for those who do so much for the community without asking anything in return. The Rapid Relief Team has supported hospitals across the state and we’re very pleased it was our turn to say thank you.

“We can’t wait for the next time we can fire up the grill for our healthcare heroes.”
