RRT supports NSW firefighter championships

The Rapid Relief Team, the charitable arm of our Church, helped keep up the energy levels of NSW’s finest firefighters at the NSW Firefighter Championships by serving up more than 1,000 meals across the three-day event in Wagga.

The Firefighter Championships is one of Fire & Rescue NSW’s (FRNSW) proudest and longest traditions and has run for more than 100 years.

Held every two years, the NSW Firefighter Championships are an important opportunity for FRNSW firefighters to showcase their skills and expertise in a competitive environment.

Wagga RRT leader Huxley Wallace said a 14-strong RRT team served up breakfast and lunch from October 24 to 26, including bacon and egg rolls and burgers.

“It was great to be able to give back and support our brave firefighters who give so much to our communities,” Huxley said.

“Firefighting is an extremely physically demanding job and the team was delighted to have the chance to serve up our signature burgers and bacon and egg rolls to our frontline heroes.”
