RRT UK Supports World Homeless Day

In 2013, the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) was established to help put our care and compassion into action for the benefit of people in need. Fast forward to today, and RRT is active in 14 countries and is operated by 14,500 volunteers from our Community.

On October 9th, Rapid Relief Team (RRT) Gloucester volunteers collaborated with Gloucester City Mission for their event.

Gloucester City Mission (GCM) is a charity committed to supporting individuals who are homeless, living in temporary accommodation, or “sofa surfing,” as well as those in need of daily essentials like clothing, toiletries, food, and crucial guidance. The charity’s mission is to provide hope, day shelter, food, and drinks to the broader community, especially those homeless or marginalised. GCM relies entirely on donations to provide vital support during these challenging times.

Gloucester City Mission (GCM) contacted the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) to provide hot meals for 60 homeless and underprivileged individuals. RRT was honoured to support this mission, having contributed to it for many years and are continuing to do so.

The event was a great success, with attendees eagerly lining up for sausage meals and refreshments. RRT volunteers served meals to all 60 participants, reflecting the shared commitment to compassion between RRT and GCM.
