OneSchool Global Student’s First in NSW HSC

OneSchool Global, the network of schools established by members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, for students and families from our Church Community, were celebrating at the Orange campus in New South Wales (NSW), Australia, after student Rory Wallace finished first in the Financial Services Examination in the Higher School Certificate (HSC) – making him the fifth consecutive OneSchool Global (OSG) student to achieve the result.

The OSG Year 12 student from the Central Western NSW city of Orange was able to pursue his passion for financial services through OneSchool Global’s innovative remote learning platform which connects across its NSW campuses.

Rory said he was pleased to receive the first-place award after taking the opportunity to study financial services.

“At OneSchool Global, our teachers and the school community provide us with amazing support to achieve our learning goals,” Rory said.

“To come first in the State is really exciting, and I am thankful for the effort our teacher Mrs Rensburg puts into teaching this program. I am glad I could add to the list of OneSchool Global’s students who have achieved this result with her support.”

In addition to Financial Services, Rory has studied Maths (Advanced), Business Studies, Economics, English (Standard), and Graphic Technologies and was a member of the Student Leadership Team.

Rory plans to put to use what he has learned in his time at OneSchool Global to commence his career in the weeks ahead and pursue further study to continue in his learning journey.

OneSchool Global Orange Campus Principal, Nick Dawes, congratulated Rory on his achievement, and all the Year 12 students who have recently graduated.

“We are very proud of the accomplishments of our year 12 students in the 2024 HSC, and Rory’s achievement in topping the state is a reflection of our students’ hard work this year,” Nick said.

“Andra Rensburg who teaches this subject at OneSchool Global has seen five students consecutively top the state in as many years. OneSchool Global provides an outstanding learning and teaching environment for our students and staff, and Andra and Rory are a great reflection of this.”
