RRT Collaborates with Qizzle to support students

Students at schools across New Zealand have been provided with affordable stationery kits through a collaboration between Qizzle and the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) to support families with the cost-of-living crisis. Qizzle is matching an RRT donation to provide the discounted stationery kits to students in low decile schools. The kits come with all the stationery the students require for the year, including exercise books, pens and pencils.

RRT NZ General Manager Paul Simmons said it comes at a time when parents need it the most as the stationery kits are much more affordable for them.

“We want to make sure every student has equal opportunities at school and to do that they need a complete stationery kit,” Mr Simmons said. “RRT has worked together with Qizzle to ensure over 9,000 students across New Zealand had the stationery they need for school. It is a tough time for many families dealing with the cost-of-living crisis and this is a small way we can help the community and provide some relief through these challenging times.”

Qizzle spokesperson Jason Suckling said the RRT donation meant 34 schools were supported with discounted stationery across the country.

“This stationery program allows every student to start school on day one with everything they need to participate in classroom learning,” Mr Suckling said. “There are many costs associated with starting school, whether it’s stationery, uniforms or other expenses. This program is designed to make certain students have all the basics they need, at a fraction of the cost for parents.”

Otaki College Deputy Principal Hamish Wood said the stationery kits will be put to good use. “One of the challenges in this area is that not everyone has as much ability to pay for everything, and that makes it more difficult for some to come to school ready to learn than others,” Mr Wood said. “We have wonderful students who range from year 7 to year 13, and the difference this makes to them and their families is huge. We want to thank Qizzle and the Rapid Relief Team for their support.”
